FAQs
What does the send in service include?
Our send in service covers a variety of different services to each and every camera that comes to us. We completely diagnose your camera, looking into all its working components, whether it be mechanical, electrical, as well as some cosmetic work.
What we offer:
- Converting your camera to 1.5v (Please see the FAQ section about this)
- Any and all cleaning or replacing of the lens elements (from exterior all the way to the escapements within the lens mechanics)
- Replace any parts needed to bring your camera to factory-like functioning
- Assess and address the electrical wiring and components (reinforcing wiring, cleaning and reinforcing the battery compartment, etc.)
What does the trade in offer look like?
When we are looking at your camera for trade in, there are multiple options depending on your camera's overall quality.
For cameras that we find are fully functioning, but maybe need some light work, we would reach out to you about the option of having your camera serviced. Though, if you're looking to trade it in we would offer a higher amount on our trade-in scale.
If your camera needs more work, we could offer you a set amount to put toward a new camera from our collection, or we would pay you the offered amount once we have received the camera in hand.
It's important to note that trade in offers can vary, but this, again, depends on the condition of the camera.
For any questions regarding trade-ins we ask that you fill out a contact form and let us know in the messages the condition of the camera so we may give you a general estimate.
All actual trade in values will be determined once LBO has received the product.
Why should I convert my camera to 1.5v?
Converting your camera from the original factory battery volts to a 1.5v allows you to utilize modern batteries.
The old batteries the QL17 used are not in production anymore, and this means you have to either find an adapter, like the MR-9 with a diode to make the battery fit and lower the voltage, or attempt to use batteries that may die before you ever receive them (zinc based batteries).
The goal is to create a more modern electrical system to allow you to save money on batteries, keep your camera functioning for longer, and ensure your light meter is working properly.
How does the ordering process work?
Once we receive your information request we will begin preparing for your product.
We will send a payment request via PayPal. The payment would be discussed prior to the payment request being made, so you know what to expect without any pressure. Once payment is complete we would then send you a shipping label to be printed so you can send your camera to us.
What is the turn around time for the send in service?
The turn around time for our send in service is approximately two weeks. This allows us to work through each and every system within your camera to ensure it is functioning well, and make sure you receive the product beyond your expectations.
We update our customers throughout our process, to ensure they are receiving the most up to date information about their order.
If you have questions about your order, where your order is, etc. please never hesitate to reach out to us.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping will be covered by Long Beach Optix at this time. Currently we are only servicing cameras within the United States, specifically the lower 48 states.
We look forward to expanding as our business continues to grow!
